These terms are an agreement between you and Zakaria Reziki, trading as Cuey ("we", "us"), the maker of Cuey. They cover the Cuey Mac app, Cuey Pro and this website.
1. Acceptance
By downloading, installing or using Cuey, buying Cuey Pro, or using this website, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Cuey.
2. Eligibility
You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, or have a parent or guardian's permission. If you use Cuey for an organization, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for it.
To confirm: Confirm the minimum age to state here and in the Privacy Policy.3. Cuey software license
We license Cuey to you; we don't sell it. You may install and use it for your own personal or work use, subject to these terms. The full terms are in the Software License Agreement, which forms part of these terms.
4. Free version and trial
New installs get a free 2-day trial with everything unlocked. When the trial ends, Cuey keeps working as the Free tier.
The Free tier includes:
- Read mode
- Notes mode
- All camera placements and sizes
- Text size, opacity and themes
- Menu bar and keyboard shortcuts
Your scripts and settings are never deleted when a trial ends.
5. Cuey Pro purchase
Cuey Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It costs $29 (the exact price in your currency is shown at checkout). It includes:
- Voice Follow (hands-free, follows your speech)
- Everything in Free
- All future 1.x updates
After purchase you receive a license key that activates Cuey Pro in the app.
6. Payment processing
Payments are handled by Paddle. You pay using the methods Paddle's checkout offers in your region. We never see or store your full card or payment details.
7. Paddle as Merchant of Record
Our order process is run by our online reseller Paddle.com, which is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. This means your contract of sale for Cuey Pro is with Paddle, and Paddle's Buyer Terms apply to the payment. Paddle handles customer service inquiries about payments and returns, and issues your invoice or receipt. Our license to use Cuey comes from us, under these terms and the Software License Agreement.

Sales tax, VAT or GST may apply depending on where you are. Paddle calculates it at checkout, collects it and pays it to the right authority. Your receipt shows any tax charged.
9. License and device use
- One purchase licenses one person to use Cuey Pro on the Macs they personally use, up to 5 Macs at a time.
- To free up a slot, deactivate an old Mac. For now, contact support to do this.
- Licenses can't be transferred, shared or resold.
- Businesses need one license for each person who uses Cuey Pro.
- The app checks your license online from time to time, and works offline for up to 30 days between checks. If a license is refunded or revoked, the app returns to the Free tier.
10. Updates
Cuey Pro includes all 1.x updates at no extra cost. We may release a future major version as a paid upgrade, but we don't promise that any particular future version or feature will exist. Updates may add, change or remove features.

Cuey Pro comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. See the Refund Policy for how it works. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights.
12. Your content and scripts
You own your scripts. They are stored locally on your Mac, and we don't receive them or claim any rights in them. You are responsible for keeping your own backups. Cuey keeps a local backup of the previous save, but it is not a substitute for your own backups.
13. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- share, sell or publish license keys, or bypass license checks;
- copy, modify or redistribute Cuey except as the law or the Software License Agreement allows;
- use Cuey or this website to break the law or infringe anyone's rights;
- interfere with our servers, license system or website, including by excessive automated requests.
14. Intellectual property
Cuey, its code, design, name and logo belong to Zakaria Reziki, trading as Cuey or its licensors. These terms don't give you any rights in them except the license described above.
15. Third-party services
Cuey relies on services from other companies, which have their own terms:
- Apple: macOS, speech recognition and, if you buy there, the Mac App Store. Mac App Store purchases follow Apple's terms instead of Paddle's.
- Paddle: checkout, payments, tax and invoices (Buyer Terms, buyer support).
- Vercel: website hosting.
We aren't responsible for third-party services, but we'll help where we can.
16. Availability
We work to keep the website and license server running, but we can't guarantee they will always be available. The app works offline for up to 30 days between license checks.
17. Warranty disclaimer
To the extent the law allows, Cuey is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't warrant that Cuey will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that speech recognition will always be accurate. Some places don't allow these exclusions, so some may not apply to you.
18. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to Cuey is limited to the amount you paid for Cuey Pro in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

You can stop using Cuey at any time. We may suspend or end your license if you seriously breach these terms, for example by sharing or reselling a license key. If a purchase is refunded or charged back, Cuey Pro is deactivated (during a dispute it is paused, and restored if the dispute is resolved in your favor). Your scripts, settings and the Free tier remain in every case.
20. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top and, for significant changes, give notice on this site. Changes don't take away rights you already have for a purchase you've made. If you keep using Cuey after a change, you accept the new terms.
21. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING LAW / JURISDICTION]. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring claims in your local courts.
