Cuey is a native teleprompter for macOS. It exists because of one simple problem: on a laptop, whatever you need to read sits well below the camera, and everyone watching can tell.
Why we built it
Video calls, Looms, product demos and recorded lessons all ask you to do two things at once: look at the lens and remember what to say. Scripts in another window solve the second and break the first. Research on video calls suggests people perceive eye contact when you look about 2° below the lens. On a laptop, that's a strip about 2 cm tall. So we built a teleprompter that lives in that strip.
How we build Cuey
- Camera first. Every decision starts with where your eyes go.
- Native. A real Mac app with menu-bar access and keyboard shortcuts.
- Private. No audio or transcripts stored, and no analytics uploaded from the app.
- Out of the way. From clipboard to camera in seconds, from the menu bar.
Who makes Cuey
Cuey is built by Zakaria Reziki, its founder.
